Tianmu Lake
For the last day of our holiday we went to Tianmu Lake. We had an amazing time! We got there around 8:30 in the morning and didn't leave until 5:30. Most of the day we spent walking, so we covered a lot of ground. Here is a brief recap of all the things we saw and did.
One of the first places we stopped was at the Hall of Fame. This pagoda is a building that contains the names and a brief biography of 736 Number One Scholars who came first in nationwide examinations dating back to over 1000 years ago. It is meant to inspire individuals and promote the culture of the number one scholar.
We practiced a bit of archery.
This is Jenny, Jen and Destiny on the shore of Tianmu lake.
Jen and Destiny relaxed for a while in hammocks amongst the bamboo.
There is a minority group who put on performances at Tianmu lake. We watched the show and then took some pictures with them afterwards.
We brought a lot of food with us for a picnic. We shared some of our fruit with the Macaques on monkey island.
We zip-lined off of the top of monkey island to a small island in the middle of Tianmu lake.
This is Jen beside the world's largest teapot with a looped handle. Those are tea plants in the background.
A panaromic of Tianmu lake from the highest point we reached that day.

As if that monkey let you get that close to him! And I am jealous that you got to do zip lines like that. Looks amazing.
WOW! It looks like you guys are having a blast! I'm very envious of you two, everything looks amazing! The zip lines looked scary. I don't think you'd catch me on that, but I guess Jen did it so then maybe I could, lol. Josh, you look a little too happy in that picture with those girls, haha. I take it your week off was successful and fun...We missed you at thanksgiving, it wasn't the same without you guys! Keep up the blogs, I love reading them and seeing your pics!

Great pictures by the way. You'll have quite the album by year's end !
Hey you both seem to be really enjoying China. I'm glad that you two took the time now while you are able to explore and see how other people on the other side of the world live.
Josh that monkey looks very friendly but I think that I would be a bit timid to let it get that close to me. I'm glad that you and Jen are getting around and doing some site seeing.
Jen, girl when did you became so courageous, I thought you said that you were afraid of heights. Zip line is something I only see in the movies and here you are doing it.
Josh and Jen we miss you, please take care of each other. Keep posting new pic

Hi Josh and Jenn,
Josh's grandfather (my uncle) referred me to your blog. It is kind of late (11:48pm Niagara Falls time)- so I have not read everything but I can see you're already enjoying some of the rewards of teaching, rewards I enjoyed as a teacher for 35 years although not in such an exotic location! I have added your blog to my "favourites" and will be checking in regularly.
John Carruthers (Josh's mom's cousin)
Do you two do any work? All I see are these great pics of fun times. What happened to school. I'm just joking. Keep up the exploring. You two make me wish I was doing what you two are doing this year.
I'm busy here but always thinking about both of you.
Chung
I want an update!!!!
Amanda~
So... What's going on out there? Any news? How are your teams coming along?
James
